Chestertown’s annual Art in the Park will feature the work of over 40 artists and artisans on September 12, 2009, at Fountain Park in downtown Chestertown. Sponsored by the Chestertown Arts League each year, Art in the Park attracts popular, regional artists who create quality, affordable works that vary in technique, media and style. This event is a perfect time to start (or finish) your holiday shopping with unique art and crafts pieces that would make wonderful gifts for the home or office and would be prized for years to come.

A CAL artist donates an original painting each year to be raffled off on Saturday afternoon at 3:00. This year’s artist is Anne Klinefelter who is renowned for her watercolor poppies and has donated a joyous, bright red watercolor, “Poppies” for this year’s drawing. A graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art, Anne received the Silver Medal in Fashion Illustration. She then attended the American School of Art, Architecture and Music in Fontainbleau, France.

Anne has exhibited in art galleries across the shore including Kent Island Federation of Art, Rehoboth Art League, Easton Art Academy, Chesapeake College, and numerous Chestertown venues where she was a 15-year partner and owner of Gallery 5.
